Senior Deployment Manager

Job Summary

The Sr. Deployment Manager will lead the implementation of SNAPin’s software for mobile operators worldwide. They provide project leadership to a cross-functional customer-focused deployment team. The Sr. Deployment Manager will ensure customer requirements and success metrics are achieved by establishing and driving project milestones, coordinate cross-functional activities and, ultimately own the successful release and implementation of SNAPin’s products within the operator’s environment. The Sr. Deployment manager works closely with the customer’s project team and mobilizes an internal SNAPin deployment team to carry out all of the delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated ability to assume a hands-on leadership of projects through all phases, from analysis to implementation, to meet project goals.
  • Excellent and proven project management skills evidenced by an impressive portfolio of well written project plans, SOW’s, Gantt charts, requirements, kick-off presentations, status reports, team communications etc.
  • Can easily describe a useful project framework and the key skills necessary to be successful utilizing it.
  • Capable of teaching others how to successfully manage projects, the discipline as well as the “softer skills”.
  • Manage progress to plan, coordinate activities with customer project team, and work with customer through acceptance of the project’s deliverables.
  • Able to manage multiple assigned tasks and prioritize work efforts in order to accomplish most critical tasks first and meet deadlines. Independently evaluate company needs in order to understand critical path items.
  • Understand timelines and appropriately identify the need for escalation.
  • Must have extensive experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (or related process)./
  • Proven ability to work in fast paced, self directed environment developing and delivering project and product-based documentation.
  • Able to be self-motivated and work independently and effectively in an unstructured environment, while contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Experience with change management and production acceptance processes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent project management, organizational skills, and communications skills.
  • Must be able to manage change effectively. Capable of being an agent of change throughout the organization.
  • Sound reasoning and ability to form consensus on difficult decisions.
  • Experience preparing presentations & business case development for C-level executives.
  • Experience working in a professional services organization.
  • Must be able to matrix-manage to drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to inspire people to produce high quality work on a tight schedule.
  • Able to travel to customer locations worldwide as required during deployment phases of the program. Up to 50% travel is possible.
  • Experience with wireless carriers business operations teams such as Care, Marketing and Sales.
  • Experience with Software & Server deployment in the wireless industry (or at least IT project deployment).
  • Experience with Network Engineering elements/architecture preferably in the wireless industry.

Education & Experience:

  • 8+ years experience in a project or program management role delivering commercial software products via the full software development life cycle.
  • 5+ years experience with enterprise software; telecom and/or mobile operator market experience a significant plus.
  • BS in EE or CS, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
