Test Program Manager

Job Summary

The Test Program Manager is an individual contributor within the Engineering program management group. This position is responsible for documenting, managing and driving internal and external test activities in support of SNAPin carrier customers. This role requires a diverse background, with demonstrated experience in program/project management, strong organizational abilities and excellent written/verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing the project related interaction between internal development and test groups, as well as external customer test and SNAPin test organizations.
  • Manage multiple test activities for terminals, client software and overall end-to-end testing activities. Own the program from start to completion, including the resolution of escalated project issues and reported defects.
  • Review and track reported issues from internal and external testing activities. Coordinate engineering level triage sessions to assign, review and resolve customer reported defects.
  • Generate test related reporting for internal and external distribution.
  • Create project schedules for test activities; track and drive projects to completion and communicate project status to key stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Plan, develop and deploy documentation and processes related to the SNAPin Test organization.
  • Coordinate Software Release and Launch Readiness reviews for new handsets with support from cross-functional areas within the organization.
  • Track internal builds released to test throughout the release process, including generating release notes, monitoring open bugs, and identifying any potential risks associated with a particular release.
  • Proactively escalate issues to management related to release candidate builds.
  • Manage development certificates and internal test devices.

Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in technical field or related discipline required.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in a professional development environment.
  • Previous experience managing mobile phone operator, OEM or software development partner relationships.
  • Project management experience including scheduling, tracking dependencies and milestones, identifying risks and reporting project status.
  • Strong technical background, with experience in software development preferred.
  • Knowledge of software product life cycle and release management procedures.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and ability to work across functional areas and to drive consensus.
